Summary

This guide breaks down the overall endgame tier list, which factors in Diablo 4 Gold power, speed, playability, and overall vibes across all content. We also dive into specialized tier lists so you can optimize for your specific goals, whether you're farming XP, pushing Pit tiers, or carrying boss kills.

Let's jump in and see what Season 14 has in store.

The Overall Endgame Tier List

Barbarian and Rogue Dominate the Meta

As expected, Barbarians and Rogues sit at the top of the meta. Barbarians have multiple S-tier builds, with Whirlwind Barb being the undisputed number one. This spin-to-win playstyle is incredibly casual, requiring only one button to farm 92-second Pit 115s on mediocre gear. Even without other skills on your bar, this build performs at the highest level.

Mighty Throw Barb is also exceptional, and there's a new hybrid Whirlwind-Mighty Throw build emerging that automatically shoots throws while spinning. It works similarly to the GoD Demon Hunter from Diablo 3, offering both power and smooth gameplay.

Minion Barb remains strong, largely carried by Ramadan now working properly for the build. Barbarians in general benefit from having many item slots and the new mythic items that boost multipliers even further. However, the variety is smaller on Barbarians. Most core skills are on the weaker side. Basic skills like Lunging Strike are viable, but weapon mastery skills are generally not in a great spot. The class shines through minions, the Mighty Throw-Whirlwind hybrid, and some damage-over-time setups. But if you want casual power, you simply cannot beat Whirlwind.

Rogue: The Most Versatile Class

Rogues have by far the most variety of good builds. With nearly ten S and A-tier builds, they are the best class of the season in terms of overall options, even if they don't have the absolute number one build.

Death Trap Rogue is massively upgraded this season. This build was already one of the best, but it required extremely steep gear requirements. Now, thanks to a fix with Beastfall Boots, you can play a grenade variant that opens up massive synergies with Opportunist Aspect and Saboteur's Sign. The build has infinite teleports, blasts entire screens at once, pulls everything in, and maintains barrier constantly. It's absolutely insane.

Rain of Arrows also received a massive boost from the Beastfall bug fix. This build hasn't been popular since the expansion, but it's now making a strong comeback. Other strong Rogue builds include Heartseeker, Pen Shot, Dance of Knives, Rapid Fire, Dash, Flurry, Twisting Blades, and Barrage. There are almost no Rogue builds below A-tier. For sheer variety and viability, Rogues win the season.

Druid: Solid but Not Exceptional

Druids land at roughly the third-best class overall. Storm Shred builds and Cataclysm Swarm remain powerful, but they simply can't match the speed or push potential of Barbarians and Rogues. Druids are fine, but they lack the overwhelming power and speed of the top two classes. Cataclysm Swarm was already the best Druid build and took a hit from nerfs, but it's still one of the fastest builds in the game. Rushing Claw is a bit weaker now, requiring more work to annihilate everything, but once you get there, almost nothing can catch you.

Necromancer: Surprising Bright Spots

Blood Wave Necro is a pleasant surprise. It performs well in the overall rankings despite my initial skepticism about Necromancers in general. However, toughness remains a significant issue for Necromancers. They don't have an easy time surviving on most builds. Outside of Blood Wave, Necromancer builds are mostly in B and C tiers. The class really only has one shining build at the top, so manage your expectations.

Sorcerer: Lightning Nerfs Hurt

Sorcerers had lightning builds that were incredibly strong in previous seasons thanks to infinitely scaling aspects. Those are now completely nuked. This means Sorcerers have more variety, but they are significantly weaker overall. Firewall Sorcerer is the standout build here. You place down a firewall, shoot through it, and maximize the number of hits. It goes decently fast and has decent power, but beyond that, there isn't much. Meteor and Frozen Orb are playable but bad, and many other Sorcerer builds sit in the lower tiers.

Paladin: Middle to Bottom of the Pack

Paladins are the middle-to-bottom class of the season. They received upgrades, including buffs to all weapons and items, but you can clearly see the difference compared to other classes. Lancer is the best Paladin build, with Hammer Clash being more of a bossing-only option with small area coverage. Many other Paladin builds sit far down in the rankings.

Spiritborn: Held Back by Bugs

Spiritborn has the same issue as previous seasons: many skill tree mechanics and tags simply don't work correctly. Half the class is broken and wasn't properly fixed. If those ever get addressed, Spiritborn would look much better. For now, it's in playable territory for some builds, but nothing is truly great.

Warlock: Powerful but Clunky

Warlocks have decent power but suffer from being slow and clunky. Lunatic and Apocalypse builds remain popular and received some redeeming changes despite Apocalypse nerfs. Minion Warlock is actually the highest-ranked build. But the core issue remains: Warlocks don't have one-minute Pit runs. Even 90-second clears are record pace. The mobility is bad, Rampage is hard to fit, and you need multiple skills on your bar just to start dealing damage. This holds the class back significantly.

Specialized Tier Lists

Push Tier List

Push tier lists focus on raw power and the highest Pit clears. Here, Rogues and Barbarians dominate again, but we see more variety. Warlocks are surprisingly high, with Stinger Spiral performing well. Shred Druid also makes an appearance.

Realistic top-end scenarios for most classes sit in the 130-140 Pit range. We don't expect any class to clear Pit 150 this season. The distribution between classes shifts a bit, but the top builds remain relatively balanced in D4 Gold for sale terms of raw damage.
